Medicare TMS

You may qualify for TMS treatment covered under Medicare if you are diagnosed with treatment-resistant depression. To be eligible for 35 Medicare-funded TMS sessions, you must meet the following criteria:
- Be at least 18 years old.
- Be diagnosed with a major depressive episode.
- Have unsuccessfully tried at least two different classes of antidepressant medications for your depressive episode, unless these are contraindicated.
- Have undergone psychological therapy, unless deemed inappropriate.
- Have not previously received rTMS treatment in any public or private setting.

Medical conditions that might impact your suitability for TMS treatment include:
- A history of seizures.
- Neurological surgery.
- Head injuries.
- Implants in the head or neck.
- Metal pins or plates in the head.
- Other medical pumps or stimulators.
- Cochlear implants.

1. Getting a Referral:
Start with obtaining a referral from a GP or a private psychiatrist.
2. Sending the Referral:
Email or fax the referral to TMS HUBB.
3. Booking a Consultation:
Once the referral is received, TMS HUBB books a consultation
4. TMS Mapping:
Schedule a TMS mapping session.
5. Starting Treatment:
Begin the TMS treatment.
